Cast: Nani, Keerthy suresh
Director: Srikanth Odhela
Setting and Themes:
The movie takes place in Veerlapally, a village where casteism is pervasive and everyone is smeared in soot from coal mining. It’s customary to drink at the Silk Bar, although not everyone is permitted to do so. Rajanna, Shivanna, and Chinna Nambi compete for dominance, with the person with the most alcohol always coming out on top. The movie looks at issues including loyalty, fear, and secret plans.
Visuals and Atmosphere:
With superb photography by Sathyan Sooryan and an intense score by Santhosh Narayanan, the movie is aesthetically captivating. The setting and ambiance give the impression that everything is about to fall apart at any moment, which keeps the audience on edge the entire time.
As Dharani, played by Nani, he portrays a character who worries a lot yet will go through anything for his best buddy Suri. (played by Deekshith Shetty). Keerthy Suresh performs admirably in some parts but poorly in others. Shine Tom Chacko, Sai Kumar, Samuthirakani, and Poorna are among the other actors who do a good job in their roles, yet some seem to be squandered without greater nuance.
Plot and Pacing:
The movie moves slowly, with Srikanth Odela devoting the majority of the first half to establishing up the people and the milieu of Veerlapally. There are a number of memorable moments that stick with you long after the movie has ended, even though certain sequences fail to grab your interest and some subjects are not sufficiently explored. The director doesn’t hold back in the climax, which is brutal and cathartic after a scary pre-interval.
This is not a movie that makes you smile at the end, but it does leave you with a strong impression. Although it may have been better, Srikanth Odela and Nani deserve praise for successfully executing the slow burn.
