Story Review

The story of “Top Gear” centres on Arjun (played by Aadi Saikumar), a taxi driver whose life drastically changes once he discovers a lost luggage. After being married to Aadya (Riya Suman), Arjun was living a happy life until he was entangled in a web of activities involving a drug kingpin named Siddharth (Mime Gopi) and the continuous police chase. How will Arjun overcome these obstacles?

Artists Review

The cab driver, played by Aadi Sai Kumar, transitions into the part with ease, conveying anxiety with his eyes and a sombre demeanour. Riya Suman gives a good effort in her part despite having little room for improvement. Shatru’s performance as the officer adds complexity, and Brahmaji and Satyam Rajesh both appear in brief cameos. Mime Gopi excels in villainous parts and plays the antagonist character with ease. The cast does a good job overall of upholding the demands of the story.

Technicians Review

Sashikanth’s “Top Gear” script is a thriller that aims to show off Aadi in a distinct kind of plot. Sashikanth begins the narrative with sincerity, but sadly, the plot settles into a formulaic pattern that interferes with the script. Although the first half ends on a great note, there aren’t many major twists and turns in the second. As a result, the filmmaker hurriedly brings the movie to a poor conclusion, leaving much to be desired.

The background soundtrack by Harshavardhan Rameshwar is adequate and might have had a stronger effect. Sai Sriram’s cinematography does a good job at capturing the tone of the drama, especially during the night periods. However, Prawin Pudi’s editing includes a few slow spots that slow down the movie’s flow. Despite these obstacles, Dhanalakshmi Productions consistently produces work of high quality, resulting in visually appealing watching.

✅ Aadi Sai Kumar’s performance
✅ Engaging initial scenes
✅ Impressive cinematography

❌ Inclusion of illogical scenes
❌ Prevalence of routine elements
❌ Lack of real twists and turns
❌ Weak climax

Rating Analysis

Director Sashikanth makes a brave effort, but fails, to put Aadi Sai Kumar in “Top Gear” in this crime thriller. The plot of Sashikanth becomes extremely predictable and lacklustre after an exciting beginning. The lack of compelling narrative, twists, and turns, as well as the film’s repetitious sequences and unsurprising drama, keep it from reaching its full potential. Sadly, “Top Gear” cannot even shift into first gear.
